The CPO® certification course is a two-day in classroom setting that covers all 18 chapters from the PHTA (formerly NSPF® ) Pool & Spa Operator™ Handbook as well as local and state codes. This dynamic setting offers direct interaction with our knowledgeable instructors that provides you with the basic knowledge, skills and techniques of pool and spa operations such as: risk and liability, water chemistry, filters and pumps, pool calculations, as well as management and maintenance and local state codes. There are no prerequisites for this class.
Typically, registration will start at 08:00am on the first day. Both days run from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the exam given on day two. The attendee will have three hours to complete the 50 question exam. The exam is open notes and open book.
The cost of the course is $310.00 per student prior to two weeks of class and $335.00 if registered within two weeks of class. This includes the handbook, all of the study material, the exam, and the certification (as long as you receive a minimum of 75% on the exam) from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) and is valid for 5 years, along with the two days of instruction. The certification is recognized nationally and internationally.
