Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification

The Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification is recognized by local and state authorities as the most widely-accepted, verifiable pool and spa training credential.

The Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is required by health departments to operate a public swimming pool or hot tub/spa in at least 25 states and Washington DC as well as local jurisdictions in the other states.

Each year, more than 30,000 professionals learn how to more efficiently operate safer aquatic facilities with this program.  The CPO Certification is valid for five years. This is an approved National Environmental Health Association course which will earn you 16 CEU.

CPO Courses

Los Angeles County Pool Technician Prep Course

If you are a pool technician servicing pools in Los Angeles County, including private pools, you are requied by law to be certified per Los Angeles County Code, Title 11.

SPCG Inc. offers the one-day LA County Pool Technician Prep Course to prepare the pool technican to pass the Los Angeles County Health Department Swimming Pool Technician Exam.

Those taking our prep course should already have taken and successfully passed the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) course as we are not teaching the subject matter information that is taught in the CPO course.  If you have not yet taking the CPO course, first sign up for the CPO course.
